A Fun Thing

So I've been getting fun Twilight shirts from this website, CafePress.com, and I wanted to find a fun Harry Potter one. Surprisingly, they don't have many. So I decided I would design my own and have it printed from that site. Here's my design. I quite like it considering it's what I named my photography blog a year ago. I'm just getting a v-neck white tee I think and it will have the griffin stamped on the back, small, just below my neck. The best part about designing my own shirt is, it's cheaper than the ones already on there! Awesome! You should try it!

p.s. Obviously, my shirt doesn't say my name on it. I just didn't want anyone to rip off my sweet design.

Did I mention...

We're moving to Seattle for the Summer?...

Well now you know. Brandon leaves in a week and a half, and I will join him May 13ish. I have to finish my seasonal job. Blah! I want to go now!(picture me stamping my foot like a two year old.)

I'm about peeing my pants thinking of all the amazing pictures I'll be able to get up there. I've asked for a camera backpack that fits 4 lenses, 2 camera bodies, and a tripod for my birthday. It even has a rainfly that pops out of the bottom. Neato burrito. I want to be ready for anything at all times.

If anyone has ever been to that area, I would love some input on things to see and do. I've only been as high as Portland. We'll actually be living in Puyallup/Tacoma, which is about 30 minutes south of Seattle.

And don't worry, I've already mapquested how far away Forks(remember how I mentioned I might be a bit obsessive?...) is from where we'll be. It's like 3 hours so I'm pretty sure it's not going to happen, but one can dream. Anywho, now you know and you can be jealous. Go ahead.

You know you picked the right present when...

A) Gracie riding her new rocker from me and Brandy.

B) Lilly trying to share in the fun.

C) Gracie dragging Lilly off by her pjs.

D) Gracie dragging Lilly off by her hair yelling,"Birthday Present!"

E) Gracie running away with her rocker.

Need I say more?

My reward

I found these on my porch. They were left by that man's company that I called 911 for with a thank you card. They are so beautiful and fragrant. The big flowers are literally like 7" across. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

A Must Have

No Twilight DVD release party is complete without eyeball punch!
My entire family gathered together for the event. If you haven't already watched them, the extras on the DVD are awesome.

Deja Vu- Calling 911, again

This morning I had an incredible experience.

I woke up at 7:30(which is way earlier than I usually do on my day off,) and heard a small, "Help."
It was so quiet, I wasn't positive I'd even heard it. I wondered for a moment if I'd dreamed it. I then felt prompted to look out the window because someone needed me. I'd never had a prompting like that before so I slowly went to the window. I didn't see anything strange so I closed the blinds. I then felt another prompting to look again. This time, I noticed a tall ladder propped up against a neighbor's house and at the base of that ladder was a man. The man was lying on his back with a backpack on and seemed to be awake. It kind of looked like he was working on a car because he was right in front of an SUV. A second passed and I decided he had to be the one who cried help because there was no one else around.

I threw on some sweats and a ratty t-shirt and sprinted across the street. I asked if he'd fallen (which ended up being a 15+ ft fall) and he said he had. He was clearly stunned and scared, and so was I. Unsure how hurt he was I didn't know if we needed an ambulance or not. Then he pulled his hand from his jacket and it was smeared with blood. That was it. After a couple minutes of discussion I decided it would be best to call.

The EMTs came only moments later and whisked him off. I felt odd just standing there watching (especially realizing that I was in sweats with no shoes, and probably had mascara smeared across my face.)
The paramedics didn't say much to me. The man's wife arrived and thanked me and that was it.

Now the Deja Vu part:
My dad fell off his roof a year and a half ago and I was the first one to get to him. He was lying in bed (it's amazing that he could get inside with all his injuries.) When he saw me come in, he lifted his head off the blanket. To my horror, there was a bowling ball sized blood stain where his head had been resting. That was when I lost it.

You always wonder how you will react to something like that. I didn't do so well, but then, it was my dad.

My sister and Brandon came over to help and an ambulance was called. He ended up breaking multiple ribs, cracked 3 vertebrae, permanently lost his sense of smell (from hitting his head on the concrete,) and various other small injuries. I still get pretty emotional when I talk about it.

But I'm really thankful that I was listening (in more ways than one) this morning, and I'll remember this experience for the rest of my life.

p.s. Thanks Liz(my sweet neighbor) for bringing me a coat and shoes while I was standing with the paramedics. It was really cold out there, but I didn't want to leave him.

And p.s.s. The man had one broken vertebrae and a scraped hand. Nothing too serious. He should be fine. Thank goodness.

I'm a sucker

And I like it.

I'm am so addicted to Twilight it's ridiculous. I needed something to listen to on my way to work every morning(since it's insanely early and my commute is 30-90 minutes each way,) so I started listening to New Moon. Again. Okay, so I've only read it once before(which I absolutely hated by the way.) This time around however, I'm head over heals for it because I know what happens after. But I just wanted to say I'm WAY excited for the movie to come out Friday. I'm sure I'll be one of those crazy girls going to the DVD opening party Thursday night(how could you not, so much fun merchandise!) And, I've already picked out another Twilight shirt for my birthday. So yeah I'm a sucker for Twi Twi, and yeah, I like it.

Feelin' Pumped!

You know those days when you just feel blessed, and you can't help but smile? Today is one of those days. Here's why:

1)A complete stranger just emailed me about shooting her wedding. Yeah!

2)A guy from the Utah Grizzlies just gave us free hockey tickets for no reason. This is super awesome since I bought Brandon hockey tickets for V-day and we weren't able to go and just lost the tickets.

3)Brandon has been so sweet and extra helpful lately. Love him!

4)I decided that instead of hating my job I would be positive and try to enjoy it. Since then, I've worked so must faster, gotten tons better, and am sad when I have to leave my kids everyday. They've been giving me hugs and kisses when I leave. Tender. Not only is it giving me valuable work experience, but it's preparing me for when I have my own babes. Sweet!

xoxo
